Ushers

Ushers are to meet, greet, and seat members and visitors, always in a manner which is pleasing to our Lord and Savior. ,Jesus Christ.  Our goal is to warmly welcome our brothers and sisters to worship and leave them with a desire to return again.  

We the ushers, pledge by the help of God to do our best to serve Greater Eleazer Baptist Church with a pure heart, clean hands, and a Godly attitude to those we welcome into the house of the Lord.  We therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, are applying the gifts of the Holy Spirit to serve together in Christian love and to strive for the advancement of the body of Christ in knowledge and holiness; to use wisdom and understanding to contribute cheerfully and regularly, as God has prospered us. And to respond to circumstances according to God’s word, for the support of a faithful and evangelical ministry among us.

We are focused only on our duties when we are serving.  We do not be listening to music, taking phone calls, chewing gum or ignoring someone who needs help.  We have a specific duty, such as barring entrance to the sanctuary when a prayer is in progress, striving to perform our duty in a polite manner that will not offend anyone.
